Default TKP Petroleum Logo

I would appreciate some critique for this logo for a logo sauce comp.

It took me about 10 minutes. If that...

I've got to be honest, I'd spend more than 10 minutes on a logo, you should spend at least half an hour with pencil and paper first.

i did do a sketch or two on a scrap of paper first but have just started doing the logo sauce comps as practice - seeing how quick I can come up with a half decent logo spending the rest of my time doing websites etc (fairly busy at the moment for a 16 year old).

ANy views on the logo itself?

I don't like the way the letters touch also the concept is quite generic can you think of anything else more appropriate that people haven't seen before

in the brief it actually said they liked the idea of a droplet. I appreciate and kind of agree with your comment about the lettering touching in some places.

If I had to choose, the first one. I'm not keep on the outlined effect on the second design. The spacing on the lettering needs some serious attention...

I find the more time I spend on a design the better the outcome.
The goal shouldn't be to get it done quick, but to get it done well.

If you're busy, then don't take on anymore jobs, otherwise your gonna be churning ou piles of alright looking stuff and nothing spectacular! And why would you want to have your name on something that doesn't look good?
Thats my philosophy anyway.

I also find logosauce a good source of practice!
I like the first one better, the red one looks like blood!

I had a look at your portfolio, I love your old portfolio!
(But your Maropa Crafts site failed validation :P )

I know your looking for crits for your logo, but I just thought I'd throw that in there :P
