Where the words THAYER and UPHOLSTERY touch looks really awkward and the mark reminds me of Typophile...

The leading is just plain nasty....

You can have a beautiful lining up on letters (such as T to U and H to H ) without them actually touching. I'd also consider a different weight for the lower part maybe

Hmm, Well the fact a logo should be unique and u have the similar style in your display pic....that doesn't work well, where the text meets it doesn't look right, but apart from that it's not bad.

Might I suggest using a less 'generic' red. It looks too much like you stereotypical red if you know what I mean. The red you get in a pack of 6 crayons...
