Site critique please

Hi everyone,

Please can you all cast an eye over the front page of my home site www.ticklefishdesign.com . Any advise good or bad would be welcome.

I'd like to find out if the look resembles what I'm after?

1.Clean
2.Simple
3.Easy on the eye

Looks nice and clean to me, I love the colour scheme, not sure about the logo....



Seems the text is missing and the icon isn't evenly spaced

As well as that logo, the black seems a little too heavy handed to me....

I think there's a bit too much whitespace in there.
Also, as a general rule, don't let the browser resize images

It looks really nasty. Shrink them and make some thumbnails using photoshop instead. For images like that, you should be using jpg not gif. Gif looks nasty and dithered because it doesn't support the same colour range as jpg.

I've changed the logo and heading position and i think it works fine now upon resizing of screen, the thumbnail images I've created in photoshop at that size and changed from .gif to .jpg and they look alot better and are smaller image sizes. also the plain black #000000 has now been changed to a slight gradient from a lesser black into a Grey type.

I think all of these changed have helped, and its thanks to your critique, any more comments are very welcome.

PS. the white space issue will become better once all the content is there, I'm still writing and re-writing the content.
