Default portfolio's friend

hi all. I've been working on this site for a while now, and would like to know if anyone thinks I should change anything or add anything before I make the site public. thanks!

I would say the 'Home' "Forum" and "Resources" text is a little too light, if you can deepen the colour it would make the navigation more obvious...I would also make the "Submit..Browse...Most rated" bit alot bigger, as that is what you need people to use most... else you wont get any submissions lol
Other than that I think its nice, the design doesn't detract from the content :)

yes It took me a little while to figure out how to submit a portfolio. When I did it said " thanks for your comment" and not something like thanks for submitting a portfolio something will happen kinda thing.

but for the site design for nice and well executed. Are you planning on adding community features sometime similar to behance.net ?

Nice idea, and other than the things above (about navigation) should flesh out nicely..

I'd have a think about that you'll do when you have loads of portfolios - I note the key words, but is this the best way?

Blueocto, marshdesign, and zumojuice made all the comments I was thinking about, so I guess there's no need for me to post. ...oh, whoops.

I like your site a lot, great concept and idea. I've already discovered some great sources of inspiration and design by looking through the portfolios you have there. Great work!

I also couldn't resist from submitting my own portfolio to your lovely site.

I like the design. Hard to pull off effectively but you managed quite well :) Just give the navigation more substance, and the empty 'post-its' near the "Up" link at the bottom can be dropped. They look a bit clumsy with nothing in them, and spoil an otherwise top notch design.

My other suggestion would then be a edit link, so people can go back an update their entry as they see it, this could still go via a 'checking' process. The same could be done to submit, so people would upload an image for their portfolio to you, then you 'check' and submit, which saves you a lot of time I don't doubt..
