Agreed. This looks far better than the earlier one. Maybe it just took a bit for the website to update or something.

Something to take into consideration --> Obviously there are a limited amount of fonts one can use on their website, because of compatability issues and the like, but I would suggest using a different font for the majority of your body text. Serif fonts tend to be easier to read for large blocks of text (particularly Garamond), so you might want to consider making the headers sans-serif and the rest of the text serif. If anything, it would give the audience a bit of variety to see throughout your page.

Other random feedback: I like the way the red headers contrast with the blue. Your logo still doesn't really make much sense, given its purpose. One last minor thing, though - everyone knows that your menu is your menu. You can just totally omit "Site menu" from the top of every navigation bar on every page.

Looking a lot better, though.

d-colonist is right about the serif thing being more readable, BUT there are far more issues gettign these to look right on the web. I think Geogia works, but many others won't work 100% of the time, and will reset to Times new roman, which just looks like you've not tried. Verdana was designed for screen readability so is it a fair choice.

I'm laughing to myself because I see another thread hijacking in the works. First it was "web 2.0", and now we move into fonts for the web.

I do appreciate your comments. I've spent a lot of time in programming forums, and may have pushed design to the back burner for the last couple of years.

I actually used to be an artist. I sort of specialized in ink, colored pencil, and scratchboard. I had experience with paint and airbrush too. I just got bored. Web design is just another form of art, and I can lose interest in the actual design pretty quick. What I love about programming is that it takes a constant thought process. I like the strain of my brain. Maybe I'm A.D.D.

About the logo ... The current logo will be replaced, but I need to find time to either make something up or have it done for me.

Thanks again!

I'd always say if you're a programmer find a designer to build your front end and return the favour with programming help andif you're not a logo designer get someone who is to make one, too many short cuts are taken by designers on their own work and it stands out a mile, good luck with the site

I quite like the logo, but in my opinion it would only work on a flash site or less professional company, e.g. childminders.

That logo is much better, except the red 'B' just does not quite fit it.
