Yeah .. I would have to say that redirecting via .htaccess is the way to go, but it's a bit complicated for most users. Anyway using your methods and mine a user now has 3 ways of redirecting, which is cool.

yep.. thats cool. I always push people to learn a little more. I think if people are developing sites, they will eventually need to learn server side (In this case .htaccess & mod_re-write). No better time than the present to start using it than a situation like this.
