Default "expand appearance" on Illustrator

Hello again

Another question on Illustrator:

I used the chalk scribble brush to do a few stroke of a stylised object.
after changing the strokes on some lines ( thinner/thicker), I selected the whole object and did expand appearance so that when the object is reduced to a much smaller size, the strokes etc stay as is in proportion.
But when I reduced or enlarged the object, it is different.
Does it have to do with that the brush style ?
thank you GC

Stumped there, never use many custom brushes so I've never noticed before.
I thought maybe converting the brush stoke from an outline to a fill might work but no. Sorry.

As far as I know thats just something that happens in illustrator, you'll have to lower the stroke size.

I think, anyway, though I could be wrong. But thats what I've always done. Try right-click-scale, perhaps?

There's a way to set your preferences to tell it to Scale proportionately.

I always loved the Alien Erase in Quark Xpress. If any of you have Quark:

1. Select some sort of object (picture box, text box, etc.) anywhere on your page
2. Press Command+Option+Shift K

An alien comes marching out and zaps the item to delete it. The closer to the center of the page you select something, the more you'll get to watch the alien marching towards the item.

Very funny, but when it comes on when you don't mean it on a tight dead line, I could kill that alien
