Unless a client requested that as a treatment, I'd be more tempted to development something different. Or you can look like a one trick pony...and to do that, you need a larger, better trick lol.

Zumo....what I meant to say is that you do that treatment for one client and not for yourself. This way the client is more apt to show off and attract outside business for you. It's sad, but while I want amazing business cards for myself, save a brilliant design idea for a client.

Oh I get you now. I see your point, though I think there is almost an expectation for designers to have amazing business cards as a demo of their skills and creative thinking. The best of both worlds would be to have great business cards yourself and great client ones too.

The flip side of this is that it might inspire potential clients to opt for the more creative approach, allowing something very personal to them, over say a online template or something.
