Thanks for all the feedback guys. There seems to be a lot of love for the first one, i will take this and make it it's own poster later. For this particular project it was a jumping off point, however doesn't meet the purpose or needs of the project. I will have a "mega load" update coming soon, at the end of Friday (today).

Of the various streams posted so far, the plane was the idea developed.

Hey r-merone, if you mean not my design, as in, not intended to be a main entry toward the final product, yes; But it was my design in terms of, well, simply doing it.

yeah was a bit confused....so its your creation...i really like it...so simple and stylish ...adding any other elements to this design would in my opinion...take away the focus from the design as it is.

not sure about the planes..wat do they represent?

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I'm creating a poster which is for the World Design Congress, being hosted by Cuba this year. It happens every two years, every third time combined with Icsid and IFI.

In a nutshell I have to represent:

International Cooperation
International Design
Cuban Culture

Around 75% complete, now.

I've had a couple more insights. Not 75% done. Ha..


The flowers are Jasmin, the national flower of cuba
the center reflects the beautiful Cuban geography,
the airplane represents international
The airplane's "streams" represent the cuban flag, notice the star
The woman with a cigar, and the vintage car, give snapshots of cuban culture
the bulding is the main governmental bulding in the capital, La Habana
The caligraphic writing puts an emphasis on the old nostalgic methos of cuban culture

the current three images are taken from photographs of cuba - no fakes. Any additional material will be STRICTLY from cuban photography, nothing fake.

More will be added, some birds most likely, refinement on the flag perhaps, and some secret plans.

I really like it, it's nice to see the progression. It won't be to everyones tastes I feel although I'm a big fan of stuff like this.

Thanks for the many comments Toon, i'll address them soon ~
I'm doing away with the circular containment, and instead trying to make a direct-to-paper appearancance, if that makes any sense to you.

Too intense on ambience at the moment, but i think you can see the direction in general. I am trying to create a final composition that will have a tighter integration, and flow, to the previous.
