Default Poster (Vintage?) in progress

I'm working on an 8.5x11 cover for a portfolio, maybe. Or this might just turn into it's own thing. I've just started but this is it so far. In my next update I'm working towards putting in greens and blues, through the effect of fire works. I'm looking forward to some, what i hope to be, spectacular partical and lighting effects...

Any elements from the illustrator version i should bring into/back into the PS version?

Started in illustrator:

Now moving into Photoshop:

haha sure ianm... supersized too?

Good point on the detail Prewe. Under an inkjet the print will lose detail because of the bleeding. With laser, or press, I'm not sure. I'm not an expert with printing by any measure, and there's much to know. I'm still an advocate of injecting almost-unseen detail into a work because i find when taken together all those micro-elements give the piece an ambiance that the viewer can't quite put his finger on.

The other reason for hyper-detail is i can repurpose the image for other uses, whether it be cropping, resizing, and then using for web somehow, or displaying the whole thing on a string of massive monitors.. and so on.

I guess i just feel at the end of the day i have more to lose by -not- putting in hyper detail, whereas if i do it might, or might not, help. It certainly won't hurt.

There's the result so for, some final tweaking later. Time to move on. That right spotlight needs a make over - a little more contrast incoming!
