Default Need Some Comments

Hello. I’ve been asked to do an advertising image for a magazine. The person is inviting people to join a contest, and he wanted me to do a picture for him. So please tell me what you think before I show it to him. Maybe I should fix something up. Thank you.

I like the ring and the type but the background seems to be distanced from the foreground.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I know what you mean, but I tried showing some contrast that way from the ground and the ring.

I had a real hard time reading that website at the bottom...the background seems to be drawing your eyes away from it.

v2 much better. I think you should try a more standard serif font for the "inviting..etc", maybe its just me but that font doesn't really seem inviting since it kinda looks alien.

i'm sorry but i don't like it not if it's aimed at designers.

I agree with Laura, try and shoot for a much more simplistic way of having your information, such as.. the website address could be in a smaller font towards to bottom left of the image, and still have the same effect on the person viewing it. perhaps you could also change the header so it doesn't take up the majority of the majority of page. Also, this may just be me but another thing you could do.. for V2 is add a spherical gradient from one corner with red to transparent have this on a new layer and just use your opacity slider to get the full potential out of it. Again, this may just be me.. but i see a huge open door of opportunity for this particular image to flourish.

Hm... I don't really like the feeling it gives me. Every line of the font seems to be equally important. (which makes it a little boring or 'long' to read in just a glance when its placed in a mag) And you've used bright red for the words, you should put the more important stuff in a bigger font than the others. Like a focus point to attract someone to continue looking into your ad... About the URL of the website, I agree with what Starscream says. :D

Well, I think if you improve it further, it will be a effective ad~
