Default Bad logos that made it anyway!

Ok, these are a set of logos I did for the Official Red Dwarf Fanclub magazine called Better Than Life quite a while back, serious rush job (as is evident) all 3 logos were completed in a few hours (and yes I know the reflections are off, I had to work with the 3 images supplied which were horrible DVD captures):

A was deeply unhappy with them, fortunately I was the only one who was, and they are still in use to this day:

Why is it all my work I consider to be good gets rejected and all the stuff I consider to be cack gets used?! lol

I find that myself actually. the logos i put a lot of work and thought into are usually shoved aside in favor of what's at the bottom of the recycle bin. So my lesson i took from that is to never throw anything away. One man's trash....

These logos aren't bad though. What did you use to make them?

The logo was a vector drawing which for quickness was imported into 3DS Max, extruded and rendered on a bright green background.
Was then taken into Photoshop where the background was removed, the nasty low quality images of the ships were added and the dodgy reflections.

The reason they took 2 hours was down to the original vector drawing, I think I must have restarted it about 3 or 4 times the spent a while adjusting it.

As I said, it was kind of jumped on me, I mentioned I might be interested in making a logo then a month later the night before the print deadline and 2 hrs before the editor goes to bed I get "Could really do with those logos you promised"
