i tend to like things a little bit on the wild side, to me, its dull and TOO simple, but depending on what kind of design u do will determin if this logo works for you. post some of your work and i can give u a more correct answer.

I'd have to agree with Toon, a thicker font will work much better in this case. If the "design" part is not necessary, then take it out. If it is necessary, then I would give it some room to breath in there with some spacing (try the thickness of your "M" first straight line going up), and use that all the way around it.
Either that, or some negative space, and make the "design" knocked-out.
