You can put something else... such as "our site is having its yearly makeover, for more information please contact us on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "
be creative.... under construction is not good !!! ;-)

Yip got to agree with flashwiz, there's something off-putting about the phrase 'under construction'. It's just a bit too blunt and I know if I see it on a site I'll just click away and forget it ever existed. If you use something more creative that grabs peoples attention, and interests them, they'll be more likely to bookmark you and check back again later.
This guy's clearly got a thing about under construction signs http://www.cs.utah.edu/~gk/atwork/ Not sure I like any of his alternative phrases either mind you!
