Default Pen Tool Problem

Hey guys,

I am having trouble using the pen tool smoothly.

When you look at this first image, you can see I've made a straight line followed by a curve.

Then I wish to do a vertical line after the curve. When I try to do this I get this.

It gives me an unnecesary curve and I just want to do a vertical line there.

How can I stop these unwanted curvesd appearing?

Thanks

After the curve click on the last point and that will fix it

Hmm, I just tried that and in the history tab it says 'Pick-up Path' then when I try to get the straight line again it gives me the same unwanted curve.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm really sorry for my stupidity but I just can't seem to get it to work.

Do as stated above but hold the alt key down while clicking the point with the pen tool

Switch between alt and ctrl to get different effects too. Welcome.
