Default Licensing Art and Design - Need Advice Please?

Hi

Have any of you ever tried/or been successful in licensing any of your art and design?

I am trying to find companies interested in licensing some of my character designs and am taking a stand at the Brand Licensing Show in Olympia in October and am really just looking for any advice you have.

What methods of promoting your designs/art for license have you found successful?

Many thanks

The problem with licensing your work is that you then have to spend time managing the licenses, which without the right tools becomes difficult and time consuming. Licenses have scope, they are usually limited in use as well as geographicaly and cronologicaly, so to make it work properly you have ot be able to make sure that licenses are renewed when they expire and that the licensees do not exceed the limits of use. For photographers, the solution is fairly easy. There any number of agencys and stock photography bureaus. There may be similar businesses who deal with commercial art/graphics, I don't know, but that's what I'd be searching for.
