Photo Editing Programs?

Hi all,
I am trying to find a good photo editing program. I do not know what I need to look for. Can anybody tell me what are some really good programs?

You are having conversations with yourself. Now I'm no detective but making the user names 14k and 11fk they kind of stand out. This is not a great way to plug a product it makes you look sad and desperate. Why not just join introduce yourself and ask a mod if it's ok to post an advert for your product surely a better and less time consuming way than trying to be 2 people.

Thank god i can now get past those confusing layers, oh they were always so tricky.
Let me try to get it one more time. Ok, the image layer above another layer is going to display... above the layer below it... that right? No that can't be it. Too obvious.
