The pink one is dreadful.
Yes, very well put together.
Yes, but it needs a little work
It's ok...
It needs alot of work.
It simple will not work.
Hey Guys,
I'm about halfway through with a wedding album and need some feedback from anybody other than family and friends. :)
Though I am fairly capable with photoshop, this is my first attempt at this type of project.
I know there are alot of b/w pics, but the lighting wasn't that great and they looked best that way.
I would appreciate it if you would critique me on both the design layout and any photoshop work that is on the pics or needs to be.
And please open the thumbnails to see full views.
Also, this will be printed into a flush mount album similar to:
Thanks a million,
Ryan

The pink one is dreadful.
I got dizzy and wondered what kind of arrangement of photos did you missed. O, I get it. You can put some of them upside down.
Seriously, let the pictures speak. Select dozen o so best pictures. Make them full page. Throw in four or five pages of collages.
Theres no real consistency. Each page looks different when they should all look similar (with exception to the wedding photos of course)
I would try and do less photoshopping and effects. Let the images do all the talking, theres too much going on with borders and unnecessary photos (unless the clients wants all the photos in)
Maybe try and treat it as if you have a blank photobook and you are pasting the photos in. Keep in mind that kind of simplicity and layout. Maybe like this:![]()

Definitely keep it as simple as possible. Theres some good ones in here Wedding Books PhotoBook Press Fine Custom Photo Books
People will be wanting to look at large and beautiful photos not a bunch of thumbnails you know? :)

Simple layout + Large beautiful photos = Elegant Album
Collages are what a non-designer thinks design is. I think they're cliche and counterproductive. I wouldn't even have a single collage in an elegant wedding album.
I love the ideas of blowing up single photos to full page, or even a double spread. Only design to enhance, not chop up and border.
Most of the photos in the samples are black and white... is this the case in the originals? I would think you should only have a small handful of black/whites and the rest in color. You want to embrace the full beauty of the events of that day.
Check the forum often for the latest design announcements. Everything from graphic design and web design, to films and music. Estetica is a great place for people to get together and help each other out.
