Colour Copiers (Digital printing) - Graphic Design Forum and Web Design Forum

Question:

How many of you use (out source) or have a colour laser copier?
Is there still a market out there for these machines?

I use two inkjets, A4 and A3 for proofing jobs but any small runs I farm out to the local Digital Copy Shop.

The reason for the inquiry is I am toying with the idea of expanding my business which offers digital printing. Of course I will have to rent a shop as I work from home at the moment.

I'd choose a digital press over a copier if you're talking about short run colour work. You can spend £4,500 on a canon copier and it still has it's limits.

The one I looked at today was worth £14000 and did a good job. Xerox. Massive improvement since I last used one. About 4 years ago.
