Default Moo minicards

www.moo.com
I ordered some last week, they arrived too late for when i needed them so i had to print up my own.
They arrived today. I like the packaging and the novelty of the tiny cards, but i gotta say i'm disappointed with the print quality. The ones i printed out myself were better. Also, 9 of the 100 cards are unusable because they're either poorly cut, the laminant didn't apply properly to them, they're scratched or the ink didn't fully print onto them.

The colours on the photo i uploaded are also quite dull and wrong.

I think i'll either be making my own from now on (if the college doesn't mind me coming in just to use their printers), or else going to a REAL printing business for my cards.

Didn't Harry get some the other week, I'm sure he said the quality was quite good?

It's just that up until 2 weeks ago i never really tried to do some proper printing, so i figured surely their cards would be better than anything i could make, but i was wrong. I think a machine just spews them out with little or no input from a human.
I don't really mind that almost 1/10 of the cards are unusable, what really bums me out is that the rest look crap because the colour's all wrong.
I really feel like i wasted my money.

On the plus side, i really like the quality of the card that they were printed on.

Can anyone recommend some decent printers they've used in the past?
I'm going to make more of my own tomorrow, but for future reference it'd be nice to know.

Aubergine Print are top of the top in terms of quality — that I've used anyway.

I've used them a number times and they've never let down. They aren't a 'budget printers' though.

I'm willing to pay for quality. I'll try them out, thanks.
I really liked the minicard idea of moo though :(

it's a shame to hear that, and im quite suprised to after hearing about harry's good experience with them. as for a quality printer, i used JamJarPrint - Best in the UK for printing flyers, posters, business cards... once and thought they were good, that was a couple of years ago though :)
