Default Todays style / movement

Hi, can anyone describe what style of graphic design represents today?

Im seeing alot of retro and nouveau shapes and symbols at the moment and i am wondering what will be the next style / movement to come round?

Sam

Depends what it's in relation to, too many people just on the design style bandwagon and apply a style to irrelevant products. Things like clean typography will never go out of fashion but most graphic design styles are just gimicks and aren't solid enough to last over time.

I agree with that statement, don't get too strung up on what style is in or out, it can often dilute your creativity

Default style?

'too many people just on the design style bandwagon and apply a style to irrelevant products'

I totally agree with this. Im a bit lost for inspiration at the moment. im sick of seeing the retro circles and the symetrical nouveau styled motifs. i think iv got designers block???

But i do feel that the art movements / styles are relevent. Like how fashion goes round in circles. I think its hard nowdays to generate new styles.

haha....good design never goes out of fashion. You only need to look at a collection of great old design and see just how good it is still now.

The next 'style' is whatever a true designer fits to the right product - which will then inheritly be copyed....
