Default Digital VS litho

Hi
Just wondered what everyone else thinks about digital printing against litho. My feeling has always been that litho is better for 'quality'items like letterhead and business cards where digital is OK for flyers and the like.

I got into a heated debate with a print rep last week who was trying to tell me that business cards were better run on a digital printer... but I wasn't that impressed with the quality of the samples.

Those reps will tell you anything! :)
It mainly depends on the budget you have, and how many are being printed - short runs of disposable items like flyers, make much more sense to be digitally printed - and to be fair the quality is getting better, but still nothing on litho yet.

Quantity is the key, people who set up a litho press for a run of business cards must be printing over 100,000 otherwise just print digital.

What toon said - mostly large print runs go on lytho and for quality print and colour accuracy it's far better than digital
