Default Pixelation

How can I make the hourglass in my logo smooth and not pixelated.

Best thing is to take it into a program such as Illustrator or Freehand, and re-create it in vector. This would reduce the pixelation and make it easier to resize in the future, without loss of quality.

Default Still pixelating

Ok recreated as vector in illustrator but hourglass still pixelated. It looks ok in Illustrator but when I save as jpeg or gif it pixelates. Is this where I am going wrong - any more suggestions please...

Increase it to the size you require in Illustrator and then export as jpeg or gif.
