You should have agreed an hourly rate before you started, it seems 2-3 hours is a pretty quick job but had the client made change after change you would have made sure you got paid for the work, I wouldn't price yourself out of further jobs being your first logo job but you know what sort of client you're dealing with and what they're willing to pay.

yip ur ryte well we didnt agree on any type of pricing method at the start, i was thinkin around £40?? more/ less?? she lives in london were as i am in ireland so it will be all through the phone or email and payments would be over postal methods,

originally i was thinkin £40 for the logo and an extra £20 for the changes, i will be sending the logo to her through email at a decent res, and when i recieve payment i will send the logo by mail on a disc to her address so that she can use it when ever!

is this a good way to deal??

Seems very cheap, I was thinking more like £40 an hour. Can we see the final artwork?

It's very hard to say, even knowing how much time you spent.

Fact is, the logo seems like a easy and simple design task, but it's not. It is really the personification of the brand in visual form, the forward-facing link point. It is not the brand however, only a part of it. The fact is, if you're supplying a logo, it can be fairly low, and if it's the whole logotype usage, more again. If it is a brand, ready to go, then more 0's can added.

The girl would invented the nike logo was a student and got $50 or something (and later a gold watch and stuff, when they did well). The logo is perhaps the simple bit here, the application of that logo is more complicated. But a crap logo can't be applied well, so the two do go hand-in-hand. Are you likely to get more work from this woman?

Hope it's not needed in Black and White
