Default Double Menu

I'm having all sort of issues at the moment, thus the appearance of the extra menu. It's bottom of my to-do list but it made me think, the new posts option is quite handy and I could leave the menu on for now, does having the 2 menu's cause an issue or not?

Apart from the slight loss of real estate, I can't see why anyone could object. I certainly don't. As regards the New Posts button; I've always used the Todays Posts menu option which would seem to offer the same functionality.

The difference is it doesn't list all threads only the ones you haven't read, I think. This is giving me a headache!

Well yes that's true I suppose, but either way there's not much to be gained or lost.
