Off Topic will do it because it has a child forum, all VB boards work like that, it has fun and games inside the main forum so it will keep lit even though it's been read you have to enter the child forum for it to store the read cookie and then to the home page.

no, i'm not using the back button, i post in a thread then go back to the parent forum section, the thread hasn't updated until i refresh the page. this is also the same if i go into a thread with a new post, sometimes it doesn't show the new post until i refresh

I can't remember it happening anywhere else, but I just click back in and out straight away without paying much attention these days...

after you've read a post you should be able to click 'new posts' if it's still in there your browser isn't set to store the cookies for the site. If it's not in there then everything is working fine.
