Default colour change

First of all i gotta say jesus this palce has kicked off since i was last here, but im back now so watch out

Anyway the point of this is I reckon we need to change the colour scheme of this forum, its just too similar to other forums for my liking, id definately prefer to see something a bit different from blue white and grey all the time.

Its not like its a major concern but any thoughts?

I think there definately needs to be more definition in the posts especially with the actual post content, font needs to be bigger for sure and maybe diff colour, if we keep the blue theme then make it blue just so its bolder cos i find myself having to sift through content

I really like the layout, if it were a change in colour I'd go for green just to be different but it could be a lot of work just because you don't like blue, a new header seems a good idea but it's not the kind of site where you're trying to attract people it's more about what is said and discussed.

If bigger text is a problem can't your browser make it larger?

well yeah but im just thinking that im fed up of seeing the colour scheme. Its just an idea, kind of a project i guess.

Whats the point in making my browser text larger so that it messes up every other site i look at, the text defo needs to be larger. more like the size in the message reply box

Show us some examples of sites and forums you prefer and why might give us a better idea of what you're looking for.

as much as i hate to say it, designers talk has a very userfriendly layout - particularly posts.

designwire.org is nice too but a lot different from this style of forum

Design wire is a phpBB and far less advanced that a VB board. What makes designers talk more userfriendly in your eyes assuming you use both boards?

well all im saying is that the postage could look better. i think it could do with some spacing or something especially from the content to the signature just a bit of tweaking, the content should be bold and the most important part of the posts as a whole rather than blending imo

I get what you're saying but if I put the posts in bold trust me people would put their signatures in bold.

Let me see a few things you're suggesting and I'll have a think. I can make the text larger but if I change the colour everything has to change and you can guarantee you don't like blue so I make it purple, someone else won't like purple.

When a forum is only 4 months old the skin is the least of your worries, SE placement is more important, they'll be time to change but no-one will ever agree on anything.
