The best of the worst of LogoSauce

Im not sure what to think of this one. Is is a bad logo or is it a monster that should be banished from the face of the earth without even being described as a 'logo'.

I'm not really one to judge, cos my logo's aren't the best, but this guy's logos, wow:

And this one, I don't think the logo is bad at all, but that wood background confuses me:

Alot of logos on logosauce are seriously over complicated

Yeah, that LogoKidd guys own logo (logo millennium) is a fantastic example of an overcomplicated logo.

I find just being on Logosauce, seeing what logos do well and what logos I think look good is a great learning experience, this guy must upload blindly.
He reminds me of a woman in my class who has been a graphic designer for 20 years and makes the same quality graphics, which all seem to use either "chiller" or "comic" font, and colors like magenta and cyan *shudder*

I've noticed theres also a lot of really good logos entered in competitions, that don't really follow the what the competition holder wants. I think they should be on here too.
That Tuner Media competition is a good example.

Yeh i feel a trick to a good logo is, keep it simple yet effective and put a story behind it.

I don't mean to be cruel to this guy but I had to point this out:

Isn't that swirl really, really easy to do in illustrator? (I've never used Illustrator, but my boyfriend has made a pic with this effect in it, and he is most definetly not claiming to be a designer)

To be fair to Soe, the logo does fit the absolutely crazy brief set out by the guy running the competition, and it seems to be the only one that does.

Cos everyone knows that designers are evil and shouldn't be trusted. They're all trying to ruin your company with their fancy-pants education and experience.
