ok i have rethought and re amended my comment …. Many congrats extended to Ollie i was lost for words and have found them.

however Im sitting here thinking whether the issue of plagarism should be addressed, but let me state first (and you have in writing) its not about the money its the spirit of taking part and most likely this money would have found its way into a charity coffer.

Maybe not total plagiarism ,angle, font etc, but I still am troubled with this,:

I happen to have a strange and very good memory. I am able to ‘think’ of an original idea, work it out, be very happy with result and still get that annoying ‘suspicion’ before final presentation that it might exist. Of course only to find out after investigating it, that I have seen it some months prior to ‘comming up with it’. I must have seen billions of images in my lifetime and take it out.

So when entering a competition, I feel I am forced to at least do a quick search to check that my ‘idea’ does not already exist somewhere, this is a family with a set of values or in effect a business where we can address matters before they hit points like this.

Not trying to be a jerk but does the point have merit and i feel a point Digger should address since competitions have rules. Or does it only matter if i put a fedex logo up. This doesnt matter to the client as he sees a unified unit but as the head of an organisation this is an internal issue. Im not worried about who’s logo looks better but one thing we designers should all be aware of and take notice of is intellectual property.

Lessons learnt now will save harder lessons in the future.

Mockup can you post your logo and the final one for people who aren't on logosauce to see, as I didn't see yours due to me being away and a bit busy now I'm back.

Now, you know me as being placcid and not outspoken ... quite amusing but what set me off was this ... If he hadnt of said it i would have said no problem not uncommon for designers to think of similar ideas.

I saw mockups logo and I liked it, so I made it in a way that I thought was better. His could have won just as easily as mine.

Ahhh, I see. I think I'm going to stop entering the competitions for the main reason I don't like to see nice logos mixed in with a pile of s**t ones and then a rip-off copy that's not as good as the original being picked as the logo of what's meant to be a reputable company. I'll stick to submitting logos people actually pay decent money for.
I always said if there's was no quality control at logosauce the entries would get worse.

I wouldn't let it bother you, the competition I won I told the guy to donate it to a charity of his choice, it's not worth the hassle to even enter any more.

totally agreed, but its funny Mockup IS my other name its just the name for just the quick logos i do for fun downtime from the other serious stuff ( i do supposedly) technically for charity (anything won under this name goes to charity) and its amazing
how this grates me ... but mockup is retired :) back to being plain ole Kaimere :)

If you're Mockup and Kaimere it means you've been voting on your own logos which apart from being pretty sad means also breaking the ethicals rules of having a site with scores on.

actually you cant check since im erradicating the logos and yes on here im Kaimere but you'll see no dual voting ... there was a response to clarify which had a vote but i took it off ... Im sure digger will vouch and i kinda expected to hear that ... but in actuality forget the moral implications ... in the standings one vote doesnt move sheeeetttt ... unlike on here :) (take that in good humour)
