actually i find his implementation overly busy. It's hard to make out the ties, it's got too many colors, and in no way will it maintain its appeal when made smaller. Not to mention they are very odd looking owls.

I mean, if he's going to plagiarize someone's work, he could have at least done a good job of it.

Seriously? so you have no issue with someone entirely copying your ideas? I highly doubt it.

And besides, the guy who copied my design blatantly admitted that he took the idea from me (as such, he did not have the idea before mine).

I totally have a problem with another artist embellishing on my own work. It's totally not fair or ethical. The sad thing is that anyone can do it outside of LogoSauce and most likely get away with it.

While I understand that a tie on an owl could be considered a common design for a company called Office Owls, Paul came up with that design first and the owls look great. So does that give me the right to do the same thing in my own style.
Otherwise, all of us could just create our own owls and post them with ties. Now wouldn't that be funny.

I kept thinking to myself last night about the frog design. If I would have thought about it at the time, I would have suggested to Renee to do a copy of her own frog and just make him fatter. Then there would be a real problem with her frog being copied. I just don't like that guy. He's ripped so many logos.

I'm thinking that I'm going to have to do an "eye candy" version of my owls to have to compete with the ripoff version of that other guys just in case the Competition holder is the "typical" client who gets wowed by gradients.

I have to say though that your current one is great - dumps on the copy from a great height! It's a shame you feel you have to make it more complicated. Good work
