It's from the Atari game 'Space Invaders' and not quite out of it's time limit for copyrights. : )

Okay, is it just me or is this guy just copying everyone?

LogoSauce™ - Electrical logo

Looks a lot like Toons logo for this same competition. I know the I/O could be construed as electrical, but come on! If they saw that someone else has used this icon, they shouldn't have used it.

What was going on in their mind? Let me see, turn the switch straight up and down and no one will notice. lol

Type looks bad though, if you're going to copy an idea it's got to look better than the original and it clearly doesn't, I don't think this person has the first clue about decent typography.

Designing simple/minimal logos is risked. The probability is high to found something similar in the world

Yes, a copy should at least be better, but, it shouldn't be done at all. And yes, simple designs run the risk of similarities somewhere, but on the same contest ? I don't think this should be allowed.

If I may go back to the live property map contest which is not a simple/minimal logo. The copier gave perspective to the map, removed one house and colored it differently, but, is it still not the same concept, just modified? Better or not, is this ethical?

....and I ticked the frog copy artist off. He sent me this email:

"but his doesnt even look like a frog, its a weird lookin gremlin, i dont like it. mine looks like a frog"

The email from them is in reference to the comment I left on one of their copied frogs. But they just seem to be ripping everyone off. Even the original artist of that frog is getting mad and I don't blame them.

Xpressions....the Livepropertymap logo is a little more difficult to pin down as far as copying. I'm not sure what I consider it at this point since more of these designs keep popping up on there. While they're are all somewhat different, I honestly don't think it's ethical. It's not showing originality on their part.
