An old friend on mine ones told me...

To be a great designer don't think too hard. You have to think of the first image the brief has given you and go with it no matter how weird or off-topic it is. That feeling will be at the hight of your creativity any more thoughts after that point will be slightly diluted.

I didn't think the poster was that good, but it was my only first thought so for some people maybe it works. The human eye and the human thought process meet at the same time on the first view.

arrr i see. a different way of working. I tend to scribble those first thoughts down and then know i can keep spurting ideas and things and then come back and work out the best way to achieve whats in my head. I prefer to release that idea i guess.

In my business you don't get time to even find a pencil. The most time you get to spend on something is about 2 hours

so do you just think an idea up and do some mock ups on illustrator no paper?
lol if you do you are one brilliant designer the best i have ever talked to anyway lol

It's easier than it looks, Mute was right it's all down to experience, you learn what works and what doesn't that way it saves time.

when i do designs they don't usually take very long...

still pondering over what my entry will be lol

see the only issue is a that you risk getting stale by only travelling down known paths and never bucking your own trends. I don't think you've reached that - you work is both good and quick and while I can come up with concepts pretty quick, i don't think I am yet about to get from wet to set in 2 hours on say a brochure. maybe a day,

But i'll bow to your experience. you've been doing it over 6 years longer.

Right - I was thinking about the text and making that something fairly strong and simple. then maybe added from there
