Logo request

I am requesting a logo for my media compnay, I have been trying to get a logo together but it just isn't working. I am finding it a challenge as I am not sure what design of logo I am looking for, I have also tried text on it's own and that didn't work as well as I had hoped for.

I would like a logo that clients and future clients can recognize as Jam Street Media, a couple of examples could be Nike or BMW. I would like it to be slick and fresh but at the same time simple and effective.

Company name - Jam Street Media
Tag line - Open the jar

Kira - it is nice but not really what I need, think along the lines of Virgin or Microsoft, simple but elegent, I know it is hard to design with 3 words but I am sure it can be done.

James - the concept is good and the colurs are fine but it looks a little hard to read, I think because the "J" is small.

Microsoft and Virgin aren't good logos they are strong brands you already know, I'm sure if you asked me draw you a logo for a soft drinks company and I gave you...



You'd say it was rubbish and the lettering is hard to read, but do you think coca-cola care now.
You are asking for a logo and wanting us to create a brand that doesn't exist. Microsofts logo is rubbish but again recognised because of their brand power if I designed that for you you'd think I'd spent 30 seconds just picking out a typeface and typing microsoft.



If you feel your company is going to be mighty enough to have the brand power of microsoft you don't need a logo, just pick a nice typeface and away you go. If you're going to depend on your logo to get noticed picking, microsoft, nike brands like that will not get you want you're looking for. Not having a go it's just reading the brief sounds to me that you're mistaking a logo and a brand.
