This is honest but very true, you're asking for microsoft, but you're meant to be a media company. Think bright clean, there's nothing wrong with having a good logo, but I don't think you'll ever be a big brand.

Well I am aiming to be the best in our field, which is interactive media. If I can get a nice logo then they will be of benefit.

I would say with the amount of tables in your code, your lack of meta description.
Things like <!-- Start of StatCounter Code --> and <!--DWLayoutTable--> and

Quote:
This page is not Valid HTML 4.01 Transitional!

Below are the results of attempting to parse this document with an SGML parser.

1. Error Line 60 column 188: required attribute "ALT" not specified.

...pg" width="91" height="27" border="0"></a></div></td>

The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.

Typical values for type are type="text/css" for <style> and type="text/javascript" for <script>.

2. Error Line 65 column 44: there is no attribute "BACKGROUND".

... width="436" valign="top" background="Jam Street media/images/Middlefill-copy

You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).

This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.

How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.

3. Error Line 92 column 97: required attribute "ALT" not specified.

...s%20copy.jpg" width="16" height="387"></td>
You've got a long way to go to be the best in your field. A logo is the least of your problems. If these guys have been kind enough to create ideas for free pick your best and put the logo at the back of your mind and concentrate on how to make business better.

I know that already and I know that a logo isn't needed but I am a one man band atm until I find a CSS coder who will do what is needed. Im sure it ain't as bad as you've put it, or is it? also there were 15 errors prior to your validation and I haven't had timne to mend the last 3.

I would say anyone that claims to be aiming for the best in their field should've dropped tables a long time go. I think for the kind of business you are aiming for a logo is not as important as you are making it out to be. I mean the minute you mention microsofts branding you make yourself sound like you have no grasp of business at all. Have a look at people in the design field that have sites people use everyday and without looking describe their logo.

CSS Beauty
CSS Vault
Web Creme
Huddletogether
Logo Pond

Can't even remember half of them and I use these sites day in day out. I go there to get something or do something and I don't even pay any attention to their logos. It's the website build that's important the clean and clear layouts to useability etc.

I'd decide on a logo pretty sharpish and then work on the site. You're obviouly working nationwide as you don't mention on your site where you are. This may not be a good idea. Many companies like to keep their work local. If someone types in 'web design'+'southampton' and your website pops up because you are in southampton you're half way there you have a local pressence. But at the moment you're expecting to be there when people just type in 'web design' and you'll be not even in the top million.

Wooh, point taken. I am only a graphic designer and have no idea how to use any form CSS or DIV (but I need to learn it desperately), but my coders can do so, I have to got to get some clients first before I can pay anyone anything. But I aim have the site done in about 3 months and to everyones standards.

Thanks for the advice
