That's not bad advice and the bonus is the site content can afford to be very diverse, remember not everyone want to see a hosting site, try a hairdressers, a health awarness site etc.

If you can prove you paid for the domain, you just need to contact the registrar and have them change it for you. We had a client whose employee had their name on the website domain as them being the owner and not the client. Basically it'll mean letterhead and such and a couple of weeks, but it'll be worth it to get it back if it's really yours.

hehe - a website is a great first step whatever industry and sector you're in. If that's web design, it's a must. Believe me, I've come across web designers without their own site... but also expanding into other areas too....
