Outstanding Concept payment

A few months ago I designed a logo concept for a client. The client loved the design and since then nothing more has been said about the logo.

The logo was for a new business venture the client was starting, which turns out the client was jumping the gun on his demand for the logo as he is still fine tuning his business idea.

This client also has given me more work from third party cleints which he slowly pays me for. I am currently getting the client to sign I contract which will cover all this issues.

Anyway, should I send out an invoice for a outstanding logo concept payment, when the logo hasn't been officially signed off and there has been no more discussion with the client?

I'd charge just for the ideas if you spent any amount of time on them

The logo hasn't been used anywhere that I am aware off.

Well if he's getting you more work from other places maybe not a good idea to upset him, just remind him the logo's there and when he's ready to use it you'll be there.

Exactly what toon said, May make you a little upset that you're not getting paid for that particular logo.

But hes bringing you more business, I know its not fair but he might not end up paying you for that logo so mine as well get all the business you can from him to make up for it.

Yes, sometimes unfortunately you have to pick your battles with clients. I would leave it alone unless they are using the art.
