Hi,

I work for a not-for-profit organisation called Own It - www.own-it.org that helps creative businesses manage and exploit the intellectual property within their work.

We have a couple of events coming up that are of particular interest to those that work within the graphic design industry which I've listed below:

I DID THAT! Questions of authorship in art and design
What happens when Intellectual Property is fundamental to the service you sell? Graphic design, illustration and moving image are sectors of an inherently ‘commission’ based industry, which opens up a range of sometimes complex as well as unique issues of intellectual property.

Our panel of expert speakers from SOUP SESSION and Airside studios will address the common questions of IP, authorship and who retains ownership, with specific attention to creative businesses and projects that have multiple platforms, particularly where they are a hybrid of disciplines or occupy alternative gallery spaces.
