This is just a quicky really, just want to know the ways some of you guys advertise as I am trying to figure out the best way for me.
1. do i try local Business paper, has about 80'000 weekly readers but is a little pricey when it comes to getiing an Ad.
2. Try and approach a group of local SME's by way of info pack through letter box.
As you may of guessed I really don't have much of a clue.....

In all honesty mate if you're selling design and websites a great site with brill SEO is the best form, even older people know if you want a website it's best to look on the net for one, say you live in essex uk, people are maybe gonna type in google 'webdesign essex' you have to be in the first two pages of google if there are companies ahead of you, your sites gonna have to be better (from a user's point of view) or your prices are gonna have to be much cheaper.
if you use google well it can be a great advertising tool
The thing about advertising is great google got so big by offering stuff for free and people are realising that thus the rise of freeindex and similar get on there and it's a great way to get interest

Yell.com but its pricey. Word of mouth is probably the best.
Graphic Design is all about good communication. If you can't read it, you have failed.
There's a few free option like viva street.

Good links to your site will help a great deal according to google no sites link to yours.

There are things link free directories, some people start a myspace, a blog, link exchanges with friends etc.
These all help. If the only way people can find you is by typing in the URL of your site it's pointless even having a site.

How do you move up in search results?? Can you make donations to google to get higher on the list or how does that work??
