How do you host your clients site?

For now i don't host (or resell) myself , i might in the future, but i am also focussing towards a possible niche, so i'm not yet decided which way I will choose to go.

As for now, I provide them with a host i trust and use a lot myself and have them signup, that way i won't have the administration of that part (for now).

During developing I host the site on my own server and once it is completed and the payment is in I move it to their own hosting/domain. Most of the time i do the complete setup as well.

Pretty simple questions..

How do you get your client's website on the web? We upload through their FTP information if they already have a host. Otherwise, it stays on our server.

Do you let them sign up for their own domain name and hosting provider? Yes. If they insist, I'll tell them who we use and why we're happy with them. But I stay away from insisting on a specific host.

Do you set it all up for them? Sometimes.

What's your favorite hosting provider and why? We currently use CI Host and aside from the email problem about a year ago, we're pretty happy with them. They are a little more expensive than most hosts, but we've had them since 2002 and we get wonderful tech support.

What do you look for in a hosting package? We look for 24/7 tech support because we sometimes work at night. We also look for tech support that we can converse with and understand their language. We also look for tools to use in our web programming.

On another note, I heard that Dreamhost is a fantastic host and offers unlimited space for hosting URLs.

I heard the same thing about DreamHost. In fact someone in here was just talking about them to me the other day. They're out of L.A., btw.
