I need to know what a good, fair and competitive price quote wuld be for the following....

my estimate for that kind of a job at that size would probably total to around $3000. (top of my head guess)
figure out about how long it will take you and total it up and then quote it like it was a flat rate but in your contract specify that you are working hourly etc.

age has nothing to do with anything!!!

if you are good and know what you are doing then the client should be expected to pay for services rendered at standard market values!
i hate hearing that designers are under-cutting themselves due to age perception, lack of personal confidence, or giving in to heavy-handed business scare tactics.
it's undermining the professionalism of our profession.
business need to learn that!!!! (i think this is the main though behind the writers strike here in America.)

anyway. come up with a fair pricing system based on market standards and your own personal abilities and then quote yourself accordingly.
if they don't like your price they can "jog on"! (is that the right expression?)

Yeh, you see thats why I needed to ask a few questions before I quote a price as I dont want to be undermining the pros so to speak.

I want to charge a flat fee with additional costs for every page after that....

Thanks for the help Toon and Rossable . . . I think Ive got a fairly good idea of what I need to quote to them now ;)

THANKYOU!!!!!

your very welcome mate!

but i don't consider myself as a pro if you were in any way refrencing me with your statement.
i wont view myself that way until i have published several books, been interviewed for magazines, etc.
don't really plan on writing books anyway so i'm not looking to become a pro i guess.
just gotta look out for my own career and dissuade others from committing detrimental acts to my possible future.
