Default Web Design question

Hello,

I have a basic question, which i hope someone here may be able to help me with.
I am currently designing a site ( for an assignment ) and have chosen to create a site about modern abstract artists. The site will have a short profile on each artist, and will have small thumbnails of thier works, which when clicked should open a larger version of the image on the same page.

However, i cannot work out how to do this, im sure its simple, but the only way i can think of is with framesets, which i don't want to use. All of the sites content is stored on a database, and im using ASP, so im wondering if there is a) some simple HTML/javascript i can use, or b) somewhere in Dreamweaver where i can do this, or c) soem ASP code i can use.

Thank you for takign the time to read this, and thank you in advance :)

Sorry about that, had to collect my thoughts.

Are you using ASP or ASP.Net? If you're using .Net then what version are you using? 1.1 or 2.0?
