i'll post my own results and stuff later once i get something substantial... most of what i've found so far is rather surface on the issue.

Well, I was recently told that my Labs works on Safari on iPod Touch devices ;), but that's all I know lol. I wouldn't mind seeing the outcome of this thread, I want to know more about mobile dev.

from what i understand so far. (this is without reading toons links) as long as you validate and adhere to standards you have the first step down. developing mobile web apps is different than standard web apps though due to different memory structures or something.

general rule for mini-browsers is that if it runs flawlessly in opera and you validate on all your code you are mostly good as far as the CSS/XHTML side goes. (taking into account the possible need for scaled down graphics and a slightly altered version of the layout) but that's all from sources pre-iphone. the advent of safari on the iphone should definitely change that for the better.

the design aspect is relatively easy compared to the mobile web app development side of it which is something that really ties in with all the ruckus and push for everything to be Web 2.0 though it isoverrated and over hyped most of the time it really, is an improvement from static pages and *ugh!* iframes. this mobile web application aspect is what i am really trying to understand because it doesn't matter how good the site looks if it just doesn't work.
