I was going to make a post about those threads actually.
I find it kind of silly to have a new thread about everything that appears on graphic-design-links. This is a forum, i.e. a place to discuss things. If i wanted an RSS reader, there are no shortages of readers available online that would hook into the feed nicely. As it is now, these new locked threads just add clutter to an already long list of new threads whenever i hit the 'new posts' button. I'm guessing this is done for the sake of backlinks? I'd just like to throw in my vote for abolishing the new threads being created. OR, perhaps an option in the user profile to hide locked threads maybe?

The point is, as the other site populates the post will become less and less but like any new site it takes participation, some people will, some people won't. A community driven site usually separates the social people from the not so social people.

No they've already reduced from when the site was started, remember it's only a week old so it still needs help populating links etc. I don't want to have to do what most of these do which is offer a prize for the person that makes the most links, that's not how community driven sites work, the idea is, you create a database where the good rises to the top and selfish spammers who have already signed up to the site and just added their own don't make it to the published links.
Because the posts here are made automatically I don't get to see them posted over there, but even I've found some that have interested me... http://www.graphic-design-forum.com/...hats-word.html http://www.graphic-design-forum.com/...think-act.html http://www.graphic-design-forum.com/...sign-blog.html http://www.graphic-design-forum.com/...ook-group.html They're like alot of posts, if they don't interest you ignore them, but asking members to vote on what they feel is good or bad is only a way to control the quality on what should be a great database of design links and a place that should answer alot of people's questions that are asked here. The guy that kept asking how to make a background I found a link there for some free vector brushes much like what he wanted and by running the search Graphic Design Links / Search results for free vector brushes There's also some other stuff I might not have read.
