I've been designing websites for a little while now and am already fed up with having no control over how they get programmed. I've decided to learn programming myself. I am so overwhelmed by everything I've googled, I don't know where to start. I'm taking evening classes on flash cs3, just bought an actionscript book by colin moock, and work on tutorials whenever I can. So how should I start? HTML? Java? CSS? GoLive? Flash? Dreamweaver? I want to learn the right way so any recommendations as far as books and tutorials would be great!
Thanks! |

i don't know of many people who use Java as a primary language anymore... JavaScript is still strong though.
start with The HTML/XHTML and the CSS after that try some JavaScript and some PHP

forget java.
focus on xhtml / css. work as 3.0 while your doing that. if you want, learn php and even some javascript if you want. no java!

LUA! - no... actually don't learn Lua.
it's not widely used or supported yet... it's a fun language though. do some research on what's industry standard and go with that.
