Default Layout Slices

Hello,
Just wondering if somebody could help me with a little problem i have

I have created a layout and sliced it but when i preview my website in the browser and select some text i can also select the individual slices i made in ImageReady. Is there a specific way to prevent this so that the slices are un-highlightable lol.

Thanks,
Evo

I assume you're using tables? Use CSS and set them as background images.

i am creating my slices in ImageReady then save as optimized html and images. When i load the html file with Dreamweaver the layout is all in place.

I reckon it's just a case that the slices are images (ie ) as opposed to CSS background images. Drag your mouse over this whole page and you'll select some images. You're gonna need to learn a bit of CSS...

in your css file it will look something like

#header {
float: left;
width: 800px;
background: url(filename.jpg);

then your html file would use this code like

using photoshop and or imageready and slicing it up then saving it optimized as is a very very bad way of web coding, mainly cause

1/ the programme add's horrid css into your html code :(
2/ an example of horrid css is Z-INDEX :(
3/ editing it afterwords is a bitch

learn some css dude, it wont take you long to learn the basics.

But to answer your question, what u are highliting are not the 'slices' they are IMAGES, image ready and or photoshop chops your design into small segmants and codes them into html formatt. When you select the text you will select all the images also.

As mentioned, best way is background-image: url(yourimage.jpg);
