Default Adobe & Linux

Hey guys? How are you all doing? I am just posting to ask if anybody has any news concerning Adobe and its plans with the Linux platform. All news are welcome!

Many thanks
Stay cool and have a nice day!

don't use linux myself, i reckon they'd think about it if it became a major OS in business arena (it'd have to overcome Mac OS mostly for creative side), can't say i'm aware of any news regarding that as i'd never really considered it would happen. not that i'm saying it wouldn't be interesting - any move away from microshaft windblows, however small, is a good one :)

It's unfortunate, because i like linux (at least the idea of it. I can't use it though :( ) but i don't think it'll happen.

In general, linux users are often quite technically skilled but aren't often visually creative.

In contrast to that, people who use macs are generally visually creative, but don't have the technical ability to use linux (or don't see the potential advantage of using it, even though it's a more powerful system).

I'd see windows users as the middle-ground. A mix between the generalities. More visually creative than linux users, and more technically skilled than mac users.

So, my point is that there wouldn't be much benefit for them to release any of their products for linux since there wouldn't likely be enough users who'd get anything out of it. BUT, it's still possible and has been possible for a long time, to run the windows version of photoshop in linux using a 3rd party application like Wine or something like it.

I think that's pretty much the reason why it won't happen. Plus, that could encourage buying a Mac :)

Buying a Mac? That has entered my mind more than once I must admit.

I have already decided to get a Mac next time a buy a Computer. That will probably be next year because I only just got a new PC 6 months ago. So when I have a Mac, I will use my PC to dual boot Linux and Windows and my Mac for OSX. I have a feeling that I will end up not using Win again... but we will see.
