Default Defining sites in DW

Hello, I've setup a site define in dreamweaver and my problem is I can log into my host via a FTP client, perfectly. In DW I get invalid username or password error, what gives. As for my host everything (I contacted them) is running fine.

dreamweaver when you are setting up an ftp account has a field which auto fills and you enter the ftp address and usually puts http:// at the beginning (for some stupid reason) you need to make sure that this field has just your ftp address in it, probably prefixed with ftp://

Yeah, I have done both of those things. This is very frusterating, I think I will just have to ignore this part and rely on solo FTP. Mostly DW gives me a invalid username or password or the odd time "cannot connect to host".

PolarBear, post screenshots of the dreamweaver defining sites windows. I'll take a look and see if I can see what the issue is...

try not specifying a host directory, i think that might work. also, try switching off your firewall and/or file scanner if you have them
