Black Sites

A friend of mine was trying to convince me that black sites work but couldn't give me any examples. Prove me wrong and search your bookmarks for all black sites that look good.

versace's site was black and looked quite good but they toned it down a little.

Any more??

im having a hard time finding "black" websites, a lot of nice looking sites, but they use dark greys, so not black, and most have some other colors involved :)

this is nice, but has a bright green, which makes it look good I guess

The second ones not really black enough to count. The first one is a nice looking site byt for some reason the white on black text still bothers me, (it could be my eyes they're not as good as they used to be).
The third works quite well it's a nice concept I've seen before (I still chase the damn this around the screen though)

I personally dont think black is a good color for a website, but that always depends on the type of subject matter of it, horror movies could use black well I imagine.

And dont think its your eyes, white on black isnt the same as black on white, it seems to demand more energy for my eyes too. And for elder people definately not a good choice of colors for a website :). Green, bright blue, reds, oranges look on good on black though, at least I think so.

See your's isn't a problem because it's not dark black and the orange text looks quite readable.

yeh, but i'm bored with it now, so i'm in the middle of a re-design. I think it's a little bit of information overload.

Thats the trouble when you're adding to a site all the time when I first did my Taylors Site it was so clean and spacious now it's getting cluttered.

I started out doing the wildlife site im working on with a black background and after some thought changed it to a gradient of grey... the black was just too overpowering to be honest... or atleast thats what i thought.

It not the easiest colour to work with... but im sure it will work with the right combination...
