Yes, but I do type the code by hand, I could easily type the code up in notepad but I choose to take advantage of DWs autocomplete. Like I said, I have never clicked on any of the menus other than File (to hit Save All).

I'm just sayin, thats the same as takin a test with a cheatsheet lol. u dont have to remember complete tags or anything

plus when i used it, the auto complete would slowed me down when i used it? u should try notepad, see if u get stuff done faster.

(hand-coder or not, doesn't really matter. Just people realize hand coders on average know their **** more than the dreamweaver puppys) (no offense to the dreamweaver puppys)

when a media course is designed to set you up to write long boring magazine articals or how to read the news then its a bit messed up!

That's the part that makes you a non-hand-coder.
When i started learning html i tried dreamweaver first and i hated it. I hated all those autocompleting tags and i especially disliked the way it was set up on the machine i was using to automatically close tags that i open (closing them in the wrong place). So after about 15 minutes of dreamweaver i closed it and turned to notepad for 100% of my work.
Now i'm using dreamweaver again because i got annoyed with notepad incorrectly displaying the text on the wrong line. Wrapping it in the wrong place. That sorta thing.
The references are quite handy i must admit.

I know the tags! If I've started writing a tag, surely I must know what it is.
And I often use notepad, for example when DW isn't open and notepad would load quicker.

The reason I use autocomplete is because of a valuable phrase I learned a while ago: "When doing a job, be as lazy as you can" ;)

I think the be all and end all is that I have the potential to be a full blown hand coder...

Try....

Taco Software - Taco HTML Edit for Mac OS X

If you want a decent hand coder with a decent auto complete

Oh oh.... well i will put my 2p worth in here.... i would say anyone using Dreamweaver is not classed as a hand coder period... the whole reason for hand coding is because you understand the code that you are writing and what is happening. If you are using a visual aid by splitting the page, then your not so confident in your code i guess.

With regards the pick and the shovel.... i would stake quite a bit on the fact that the holes WOULD be different depending on which way you do them... :-)

rant over...

In all honesty for a 17 year old I think Harry's code is pretty good so I'm guessing the full hand coding will be the next progression.

Yes but the point I'm making (which everyone seems to have missed!) is that I DO know the code, and know it well! I just use DW coz its autocomplete sits hand in hand with my laziness!

EDIT:: I just coded a page on the fly someone using a ****** free website creator! Proof!
