    How far would you travel/commute

Hi all.... hope everyone is well....

Im curious to know how far people would travel/commute for a role? I will be honest and this relates to a contract role that i have been offered which would mean that i would have to commute from Boroughbridge to Manchester... 75 miles and on Google its saying 1hr 25 min although with the traffic across the M62 between Leeds and Manchester im thinking this is going to take MUCH longer, as its also into the city centre of Manchester....

Im very torn!! Good company to do some work for...... but the travelling....

Anyone else had this dilemma? How far would you commute.

PS> (Toon feel free to move this to another section if you feel its in the wrong place, was a little unsure where to put it.)

As you say i guess it all comes down to how much you want to work for them.
I'll be commuting to Leeds everyday soon which will take about an hour each way... not too bad a time but then I guess you never really know until you start doing it how bad it is

Interesting that you chose 1hr 30min.... do you really think you could commute that far? thats 3 hours a day in the car, 5 days a week? Traffic accidents or traffic problems aside?

Usually i have said within an hour away is fine? which is why im struggling with this one... i can see it taking me 2 hours if there is any sort of traffic problem etc.

You going to be commuting on a contract or permanent work EP? just wondered for how long basically....

Its a permanent position, although I might consider moving eventually depending on how things go...

I chose an hour and a half as on a train it wouldn't be too bad and I haven't had to commute before so don't have any bad feelings built up yet. That would be the total max though, anything further would have to involve relocating or a major salary hike

I travel about an hour and it's never bothered me that much it all depends on how much the company's willing to pay me

Yeah this is my sort of thoughts on it..... an hour should be about right, but from home to centre of Manchester... i can just see the traffic delays! Train takes 2 hours nearly... so not an option either!

Hmmm.... not sure what to do.

Why not stay in digs during the week and go home at weekends?
